In this episode, our host, David Clifford, tries to provide context around the statement that every person new to Epilepsy seems to make, “I just want a normal life!”.
The process of adapting to Epilepsy is tough and often long. One thing that hinders us in the search for true acceptance is the idealization of what really is “normal”. Is normal what we see on TV, read in magazines, or consume on Social Media?
We hope you like this episode as it is a bit different than the ones in the past. It provides opinion and not fact. In our host’s humble opinion a normal life consists of:
- Wake up next to someone who you love and they love and respect you.
- Contribute to society
- Spend time with friends and family
- Get proper long-term healthcare.
- Sleep
- Pay taxes
We know, it is easier said than done! We really appreciate you taking the time out to listen. Did our host miss a fundamental component of a normal life?
